OMAHA (DTN) -- Retail fertilizer prices continued to be mostly higher during the fourth week of June 2025, according to sellers surveyed by DTN. However, more fertilizers were lower priced this week compared to recent ones.
No fertilizer price was higher or lower by a substantial amount for the third week in a row. DTN designates a significant move as anything 5% or more.
Five fertilizers had slightly higher prices. DAP had an average price of $810 per ton, MAP $846/ton, potash $481/ton, 10-34-0 $672/ton and UAN32 $500/ton.
UAN32 is more than $500 per ton for the first time since the fourth week of May 2023. That week, the price was $509/ton.
Three fertilizers were slightly lower than the prior month. Urea had an average price of $656/ton, anhydrous $770/ton and UAN28 $413/ton.
On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.71/lb.N, anhydrous $0.47/lb.N, UAN28 $0.74/lb.N and UAN32 $0.78/lb.N.
Even with a ceasefire currently in place in the Israel-Iran conflict, the global fertilizer market could still see some negative effects, according to a recent report from the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association.
Nearly 31% of global urea exports, 18% of global ammonia exports and 15% of the MAP/DAP are all shipped from fertilizer producers in the Arabian Gulf, west of the Strait of Hormuz. The narrow stretch of water between Oman and Iran is the only route for a large amount of production for countries west of the Strait, including Saudi Arabia, according to the report.
"Iran has a history of restricting or blocking ship traffic through the strait during times of conflict, which is making fertilizer and energy markets justifiably nervous," the report said.
There have already been fertilizer production impacts, as Iranian ammonia production has stopped and so have Egyptian urea and Jordanian potash; both countries source natural gas from Israel. So far, the Strait of Hormuz remains open, but reduced (or, ultimately, stopped) shipments would dramatically amplify the impact on nitrogen, phosphate and sulfur markets if Iran makes the strategic decision to change the operational status, the report said.
Seven fertilizers are now higher in price compared to one year earlier: MAP (by 3%), 10-34-0 (5%), DAP (7%), anhydrous (9%), UAN28 (20%), UAN32 (29%) and urea (30%).
The remaining fertilizer -- potash -- continues to be lower by 5% compared to last year.
DTN gathers fertilizer price bids from agriculture retailers each week to compile the DTN Fertilizer Index. DTN first began reporting data in November 2008.

The global fertilizer market is watching the Israel-Iran conflict closely, according to one fertilizer analyst. You can read about it here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
